Any Sleeper Rbs?

Postby chaindog35 » Tue Feb 25, 2003 12:25 pm

Who are the sleeper Rbs this year? Are there any very deep sleepers? Any young prospects?

Here are two RB's that I don't believe are being drafted high enough in the mock drafts that I have seen:

1. Anthony Thomas
2. Kevan Barlow

Not sure that I would call them sleepers, but they seem to fall to later rounds than I think they 'should' be picked.

It is kind of early to be really looking at super deep sleepers, but here is one to watch in preseason to see what the Colts do with him: Dominic Rhodes.

I'm also watching another ex-1000 yard rusher, to see what happens to him: Olandis Gary.

One guy I have always liked who fell off the map last year is Stephen Davis. If he is traded to a decent team that uses him I think he could put up good #'s.

Altanta spent a pick on TJ Duckett last year and if he is healthy, he will get a shot. With Vick in the backfield it should open a lot of lanes for him.

Zeroe in Pitt will put up decent #'s.

Gary is an interesting comment. Seems like ther may be some changes in Denver and he sure does have the tallent, but I would have to say he is a long shot.

Oh, my other vote for a sleeper is whoever gets the not in Philly.

It all depends on where guys sign but Stacey Mack could be good if he starts as well as Stephen Davis.

I would also watch the RB competion in Washington between Betts and Watson either could emerge as a great sleep depending on who wins ther job.

Coming out of the draft Justin Fargas could be the next Portis same style of runner and put up a great 40 at the combine also dont count out Magahee just yet

Barry Sanders (lol). I'm wondering how Deshawn Foster's injury is healing up. He was amazing in preseason last year before his injury, but I guess the injury ended up being more serious than what they thought. What about Duckett? Is Atlanta gonna give him a shot, or has Dunn done enough to give him his carries?

Not that I would draft him early but this could be Pittmans time........and I don't mean he will be elite but he could and should post over 1100 with double digit td's.

just thought of someone else.......I was just checking the Jaguars depth chart...and it appears Fred Taylors backup is some kid named Elvis Joseph.....so when Freddie gets hurt...maybe this guy could post similar numbers...unless the jags pick up a back in the 2nd round.

Not that either one of these guys are necessarily sleepers, but what does everybody think of Faulk and Edgerin this year? I mean these two guys had pretty disappointing years last year. Does anybody see these two guys bouncing back to form?

One would think both would/should and could be top 5 ff rb's again.......to be quite honest I would take my chances on Faulk b4 Edge....but at the same time I would still draft Ricky,,LT2...Portis and Alexander before them.
