Did I hear that?

Postby Petey » Wed Feb 26, 2003 10:00 am

I swear I heard the Lions traded their #2 pick to Washington for Fred Smoot. I haven't seen anything on it though. Maybe the radio guys were just speculating. I only heard the tail end of the conversation. Anyone know something about this?

I looked all over Espn and couldn't find even a speculation on a trade. Sounds like maybe something Detroit radio is speculating.

The Washington Post reports that Redskins officials are denying an Internet story that they attempted to trade up for the second pick in April's draft. CBS Sportsline reported earlier in the day that the Lions turned down the club's offer of cornerback Fred Smoot and the No. 13 pick in the draft for Detroit's No. 2 pick.

Thanks Home skillet. I think that would have been a good move for D-town if it was true. But I guess not.

Just a little, what if?

What if the Redskins do get the #2 pick, who do they take?

No question...hands down...Charles Rogers. Washington needs a WR just as bad as Detroit.

"And with the second pick overall the Washington Redskins pick.....

A NEW COACH!!!!!!!!!"

Seriously if they could land Rodgers that would be sweet. They would have him and Gardner. Still their success all comes down to Spurier.

LOL to you Sandwich I think you maybe on to something there!!!

But we do have to give Spurrier a chance to catch on to the way the NFL works I think he learned that last year so I expect better this year.

The only one that the Skins could be looking for is Rogers they need the big play, deep threat to make the Fun n Gun run which they dont have and it doesnt look like they will be able to get one via FA
