The Redskins saved $5.2 million against their 2003 cap by cutting running back Stephen Davis on Wednesday.
Our View
It wasn’t just about the money. In addition to the tremendous cap savings, many feel that Steve Spurrier’s pass-first offense isn’t a good mesh with Davis’ workhorse running style. The Patriots are already reported to be interested in acquiring Davis, and more teams will undoubtedly come forward. If Washington doesn’t acquire another starter, Kenny Watson and last year’s second-round pick, Ladell Betts, will challenge one another for the starting job. Our money is on Betts.
No surprises here .
Who cant stand Spurrier *Raises hand*
