How did Marc Boerigter go from

2002 Kansas City Chiefs 420 yards 8 TDS

to

2003 Kansas City Chiefs 158 yards, 0 TDs

and which guy are we going to see this year?

I think he got really lucky and was open a bunch of times two years ago. He had a few 80+ yard TDs that year which inflated his yardage total. He was hurt for quite a bit of last year if I'm not mistaken, so that's probably why he did absolutely nothing. At this point, I wouldn't worry about drafting him, but if he starts appearing the KC radar this year, I might think about picking him up.

he had those few games where he had the 99 yard touchdown and then another long one a week later. i think he is 4th behind kennison, morton and hall. in other words, watch for a repeat of last year

MercerBoy is right. He had an exceptionally lucky year in 2002. Everyone jump on the MB sleeper bandwagon the following year. Let that be a lesson to us all.

Considering the injury reports coming out of KC, he might end up being the opening day starter along side Dante Hall.

8-o

If you have a very deep bench, he's worth a spot I suppose.

Injuries

Postby DraftDodger » Wed Aug 25, 2004 12:11 pm

After a look at Boerigter's situation, I have to agree that he's going to get opportunities because of injuries to the starters. I think he's a serviceable backup.

Keep something in mind. Our opinions of a player don't define that player. The past performance of a player doesn't define that player. It's up to Boerigter to define himself as a good wide receiver, and I think he can do that this year.

We'll see.

From what I've read, Vermeil has pretty much said that the door is wide open for him to come in and prove himself as an everyday starter due to injury and the lack of performance from Morton. Hall certainly isn't an every down guy and the rookie Parker whom they are high on is a year away at least.

Nice reserve option with upside. He is afterall projected to start in one of the best passing offense in the leagues....Anything is possible.

Some people in KC are doubting if Morton will even be with the team that much longer.

His injury raises both Marc's and Dante's values.
