Duce Staley's value just took a dive!!!

I just heard Kendall Simmons is out for the year. With an already shaky offensive line, this will hurt a ton. It is not confirmed yet, but it doesn't sound good. That would probably hurt all Pittsburgh's fantasy players...

link?

this is bad news if it is accurate.

Also - does anyone have any recent write ups on PITs Oline? Id like to see how this might affect them.

http://msn.foxsports.com/story/2678226 wrote: Simmons was injured in practice on Wednesday. An MRI exam Thursday morning revealed a tear in the anterior cruciate ligament.

"All these things are part of the game," coach Bill Cowher said, "We're not the only ones going through it, everyone's going through it and the one thing you don't want to do is alter how you approach the game."

Linebacker Kendrell Bell, who has been bothered by a nagging shoulder injury, will sit out the game against the Texans. The 2001 Defensive Rookie of the Year missed much of the 2002 season because of injuries.

He'll be joined on the bench by cornerback Terry Fair (hamstring), linebacker Clark Haggans (broken fingers), and defensive tackle Kendrick Clancy (calf).

Simmons' agent, Eric Metz, said he will get a second opinion next week in Birmingham, Ala., Dr. James Andrews, a noted knee specialist.

"He's holding out hope that there's some way he can brace it up or do something along those lines to get out there and play, but it looks like there's a very slim chance of that," Metz said.

The line struggled last season too....This isn't good news for them at all.

Further reinforces my hunch that Maddox will go down, and we'll see Big Ben sooner rather than later.

Why do you guys think it is the end of the world. The steelers line isnt nearly as bad as last year. Last year they had 2 starting Olineman out and the good news is that the can bring in Okobi who is a bad ass and move hartings over to guard.

You guys need to chill some.

I'm with Agent on this one. I think it is one of those losses that sounds worse than what it is. I didn't really expect simmons to be all that great this year anyway since I am a bit skeptical of him learning to cope with his diabetes. I can see hartings moving over and okobi starting at center or keydrick vincent starting at right guard. In all reality its better that the injury happens now rather than during the regular season. The bigger issue last year was the fact that the line never got a chance to work together more so than a lack of talent.

,,,,,,,,,agreed, although it hurts, it's not near as bad as being made out to be in this thread.....they would have to lose 2 more OL man before it gets compared to last year, Steelers will be fine, and so will the run game :-° (although it frickin suks,,,,,,,,,,, :~( )
