Giants vs Panthers

Postby Budman_ffc » Thu Aug 19, 2004 8:13 pm

Impressions after the 1st qtr:

Eli is impressing the hell out of me for a rookie - throws equally to both Hilliard and Toomer, but Toomer is the guy when he is getting pressure.

Tiki looks good so far...no way he is losing the starting role.

The Giants run D is ok and their pass D sucks.

Way too many penalties by the Giants.

Delhomme is playing well and there is no doubt that Smith is the go to guy for him even though Mushin got the TD.

Smith is one hell of an athlete! He is returning punts too.

The Giants rookie kicker has got a leg....2 for 2/51 and 42 yarders.
That's my two cents and it's worth every penny of it!

Semper Fi!

Steve Smith is all over the place. I'm officially nicknaming him The Flash.

Giants o-line looks terrible. Defenders are constantly in the backfield.

I plan on stearing clear of any Giant player this year, The offenseive line is clearly in trouble and that is not good news for the the guy they are protecting or makeing running lanes for. Although France my be making some long distance kicks this year.

I know it's the Giants (and essentially their 2nd string at that with all the injuries), but Smith looked awesome out there. I already have him in the top 10 (#8) but he's making a bid to go ahead of Coles now.

Third time's a charm. :-b

Eli was impressive. The O-Line was horrible.

Carolina defense look like they will be back to form.

Game was great, stupid Giants fans behind us...just shut up already, you lost...geezes.

Delhomme was very impressive, as was our pass attack. I'm concerned about our pass defense, though. Didn't look particularly strong until we got that Wesley int TD. (But that's second team)

A win's a win...we'll take it ;-D

Nice to see Steve Smith doing well, since I have him as a #2 in one league and a #1 in another (thats a long story that shouldn't have happened). Hopefully he can put it together for a whole season. Him returning kicks is a nice bonus too.

PS: Heh, this is my 1000th post.

I didn't watch this gala primetime television event, but I notice DeShaun Foster got only one fewer carry than did Stephen Davis, and Foster had more yardage at that. I wonder if people think this will be the breakdown during the season: 50/50, or the dreaded running-back-by-committee.

Then again, Ron Dayne had about twice as many carries as Tiki and I DON"T think that will be the case during the real season.
