Why is everyone so down on shockey - he's the best

overrated shockey? Are you dumb - he will be the top tightend this year and mark my words. Just tune into his rookie year vs the texans and you'll see why he's the most dominant.

If he stays healthy he'll be the best, contingent on manning hitting him int he redzone more than twice. His stats are clearly better than gonzo - especially considering gonzo has a better qb and rb to open it up. Shockey just has to locate where tiki barber fumbles the ball 4 times a game.

Why burn a 3rd round pick on gonzo whne you can get shockey in the 5th?

Umm, because Tony is only like 28, has scored improved his TDs from 6 to 7 to 10, while Shockey has scored no more then twice, has nagging injury problems, and also KC wasn't very good when Gonzo just started. So look for the normal 600+ yards, 2 TD season for Shockey because the Giants will not be seeing the red zone oftern while Gonzo will get nearly a 1000 yards and 8+ TDs. Just don't disappear, because I plan on making you eat crow pie at the end of the year.

All I'm saying is that there are plenty of TE's capable of putting up the same numbers that can be had much later in the draft. He does have a world class mouth though

Shockey wont even come close to the same production GOnzo gets, and im a shockey fan.

Shockey is a solid TE, but he will not only not challenge Gonzo in the slightest, he'll get beat out by Todd Heap, as well... And he'll be in a neck-and-neck dead heat for third with Kellen Winslow...
