There you go again Sling. When the Bengals do start with their new winning ways, I'll be sure to remind you about it. Sioux, I totally agree. Alot of those games were very close loses, and the 1st half of the season, Gus was clueless out there. Finally when Kitna got the job, the offense flourished with him in there. They have totally overhauled the staff with Lewis's guys. I think all of the outside influences will be a breath of fresh air for the organization. It was a total de-bengalization of the staff.

Sorry DUKE, as long as Dung Brown is running the Bengals, they will never be totally de-bengalized. Four wins is pretty ambitious, and five wins would get Marvin the keys to the city.

Can't argue that there offense started clicking and they stayed

in a lot of ballgames till the end. But if there Defense

could of stopped some of those teams from scoring they might

have won 5-7 games.

The Bengals will never be totally de-Bengalized unless they scrap there entire football team and start with all new personnel who HAVE NEVER PLAYED FOR THE BENGALS!! As long as one person on the team has played for the Bengals and their losing ways, the disease that is the Bengals will spread and infect all who play there. The team is doomed to losing and mediocrity (at best) for years to come. Bwahahahaha...Just kidding. I think they will win at least 4 maybe 5 this year.

I have to look inside the numbers a little bit here, but I will also predict a decent season for the Bengals, though I personally think 6 wins is about right!!

2002 Bengals - finished at 2-14.
They played the AFC South (not a real powerhouse division), and the NFC South (A pretty good division), plus San Diego and Buffalo.
They lost 14 games, by margins broken down as follows:
25 or more points - 4 times (these were all in the first six weeks of the season!)
20-24 point losses - once (if I recall correctly, this was the last game of the year against Buffalo, and didn't mean anything!).
15-19 point losses - once.
10-14 point losses - Three times.
5-9 point losses - Four times.
1-4 point loss - once.

2003 Bengals - will be playing the AFC West (Tough), and NFC West (Not too bad), plus Houston and Buffalo. They've also started Free Agency Period by signing some Defensive help (Powell), and letting some offense go (Neal).


Looking at the 2002 season, I think the Bengals were almost there, and I really think adding Lewis as the HC, will put them over the top, and actually make them respectable. I do see them winning six games in 2003.
