Yeah, but all the 2000 yard predictions for Jamal seemed to only come out of the woodwork when he was within 50 yards of it.
Same with his record-setting day. Everybody said he predicted it...he just said something vague like "if nobody tackles me and I get the ball we're gonna win the game", and suddenly he's a prophet.

There is no way in hell Holmes will rush for 2300. Even if he averaged 5 yards per carry, he would need 460 carries to hit 2300. The Chiefs would never run their 31 year old back that hard in the regular season.

Couldn't have said it better myself. Even if Priest averaged his career best 5.7 yards per carry like he did in 1999 and ran the ball his career best 327 times like he did in 2001, he would still only have 1864 rushing yards.

2300 combined yards is definitely possible, though.
2001 - 2169 combined
2002 - 2287 combined
2003 - 2110 combined

I'd like to see a link for the 2300 rushing yards quotation. I'm betting that's not what he said.

Sorry no link. I couldn't find one on ESPN's site anywhere...Again it was a quote that came from the trainer that it was a goal they set.

There was rumor on ESPN that Priest thought about retiring this year and I think that this is just a ploy to get him excited again. I think he may get 2300 total yards if he's 100% healthy but no way is he getting 2300 rushing as his o-system won't allow for that many touches.
