Thomas Jones

I've heard varying opinions of what he'll do this year. He's got a lot of upside because it looks like the offense is focused around him, yet he's had a disappointing career so far.

I have the 5th pick of a 12 team draft so is he worth a shot in the 3rd round at pick #29? How does he compare to Westbrook, C. Brown, Suggs etc.?

I had the exact same pick and I picked thomas jones:

1. Ahman Green
2. Terrell Owens
3. Thomas Jones

This is in the first and short league here at the cafe.

I'd rank them:

Westbrook
Thomas Jones
Chris Brown
Suggs

Thanks for the reply. Who else was available at that spot? Is there a place I can see this draft?

There ya go! I think westbrook was available but this was before the news that buckhalter went down. If I had known that I would've grabbed westbrook (perhaps, although I do have terrell owens).

The Guy Who Doesn't Believe In Thomas

Suggs is a monster stud and I doubt he'll end up sharing as much time with Will Green as the other 3 RBs will in their RBBC situations.

I put him first.

The only Bears RB I'll draft is Forsey, and then only in the final round of the draft.

Westbrook
Thomas Jones
Chris Brown
Suggs

That is the order. Suggs is the only one in a controversy right now.

westbrook is the man. Jones is the feature back. Brown is the undisputed starter til he f*&%s up, but suggs has green on his heels

I think people put to much emphasis on his past struggles. In Arizona, it doesn't matter whose playing around you...Arizona is a talent sucking desert.

When Thomas Jones by default became the man in tampa....heading into the last month of the season, he showed me alot....he showed me he could be an everydown productive back...durable...take a beating, come in smashmouth situations, tough out short yards....and have that ability for a HR on any given reception or attempt.

in 5 games at the end of the season:

591 Total YDS 3TDS 91Rushing attempts... a 4.5AVG per carry...and 13 Receptions.

heading into this season, he's gonna be the 'focal' point of the offense... a west coast offense that highlights all his ability...speed, quickness...good hands...etc (thats why there's been so much comparison to preist holmes, and faulk)

he was a 6th overral pick, and has a chance to show off why this year.

Good responses. I think at this point I'd rank them

Westbrook
T. Jones
Suggs
C. Brown

While Brown has the job and Suggs, technically doesn't yet, I think he will be named the starter and has better upside than Brown.

Is it safe to say they could all be drafted in the 3rd? Any chance they will be available in the mid 4th?

I'd go:

Westbrook
Brown
Jones
Suggs

With Westbrook way above the others.

I don't like Brown that much, but I can still see the A-Train getting some time in Chicago.

Good question on when these guys will be available.

I see Westbrook going late second to early third (probably second round now that Buck is out).

T Jones should go in the third.

Brown third or fourth. I don't know how long he'll last. I've seen him last until early fifth, but there's a lot of variation here. I'd like to hear other people's thoughts on this.

Suggs should definitely be there mid fourth. Probably mid fifth or even sixth.
