Bettis is to Cowher what . . .

Cowher, the most over-rated coach in the NFL. He sticks by Maddox, but why? They stick by Cowher, but what has he done for them? I don't understand the Steelers. Hines Ward keeps them respectable.

Actually you may be suprised Bill has stated that he wants to try and keep the same personel in the game instead of switching around like we used to. He stated that he felt that defenses were finding us predictable when we did that. i think he will see some goal line but not us much as one might think IMO.

Here is a case where a man has been out performed in camp, and is struggleing learning the offense, and is going to be the starter....damn shame

I predict that Staley will fail miserably. I'm not sure what the primary reason will be yet though. I could be that he has about zero chance of both being a primary RB and staying healthy (20 ish carries/game and the third down duties). OR It could be that his lack of ability to BOTH run between the tackles AND make people miss will be exposed early and often.

IMO Staley's ability justifies his usage as a glorified third down back in Philly.

I would be worried about guys the Eagles got rid of. They usually hit a sharp decline, because they Eagles seem to know exactly when to let a guy go. See Trotter and Hugh Douglas. If Staley and the 2 DBs they let go (their names escape me at this moment) flop this year, don't ever draft guys the Eagles let go to FA.
