Dolphins RB speculation

Postby nsulham » Tue Aug 24, 2004 3:30 pm

Anyone have any insights/info on WHEN you think the Miami RB situation might be resolved (or as close to it as possible)

I ask because my main draft is Saturday morning and I've heard rumblings that they'd like to have brought in another RB by then.

Will Miami have a new RB this week? If so, will said RB be the man or split with Minor?

The Hurricanes have all the best backs in Miami.

All ive heard is that Wannestedt cant stand Minor, and that he definately wants someone else in there. I hear James Jackson is a candidate for the job, but all i can really say in i dont think Minor will have fantasy value this year.

well... Minor is making Wanny's mustache crawl!

But what the hell are they waiting for? Give Denver a #3 , call in Alan Funt and end this thing! Anderson, and hundreds of fantasy players, are waiting with belated bad breath!

I also read that Pittsburgh's backups are both being considered, as well.

The word is that they want to use that 3rd rd. pick that they just got from the Bears to get a potential RB. I couldn't see the Broncos parting with Anderson for just a 3rd. rd. choice, so I've got to think that Jackson or Hayes from Pitt. are the two most likely candidates.

and you want to take a Dolphins rb because.....?!?!?!?!?!?!?????

look, it took Ricky Williams 392 carries to get just 1,372 yards(or 3.5 per carry) last year...Williams had talent..some of the names theya are throwing around as a replacement are laughable..James Jackson?he has averaged 3.2 yards per carry in his nfl career-great hands, slow feet...Hambrick is a bust..Minor? please..
If you have to grab a Dolphins RB , you're probably not going to win this year, anyways.
This will be one of the worst teams in football in '04. things will implode on Wannstedt...the defense will spend so much time on the field they will be worn down by November....they be playing from behind, they will be forced to abandon the run..
6 wins, tops, for Miami in 2004. I would suggest you look elsewhere for quality rb's...

AP reports the Miami Dolphins showed an interest in RB Jerome Bettis, but the Steelers cannot afford to trade him. Bettis counts $2 million under their salary cap this year. He would count $3 million if they trade him because the remaining prorated portion of his signing bonus at $1 million per year through 2006 would all count this season. The Dolphins want a dependable back and they are calling around the league, including the Steelers, looking for one.
