I wouldn't be so comfortable drafting him if he didn't light it up in the postseason, that coupled with his strong showing during the season makes him a decent #1 and a good #2.

That still makes no sense unless your league allows for KR yardage. If not, you're saying he's only a good #1 if he returns punts, which means he might get 1 extra TD on the season. Explain to me how that works.

The general consensus here seems to be that Smith makes a decent #1 reciever. I'm saying that if he is still returning punts, this would elevate his ranking in my eyes to the point where I think he will be a good #1 option. Obviously this assumes a league that counts return yards. I'm not saying his return yards are going to dominate games, just that they help, especially on weeks when he struggles as a WR.

Even if he returns a punt for a TD those points get allocated to the D/ST unit in most leagues. Most leagues don't score return yards. If anything being a punt returner makes him a riskier pick because of the injury risk.
