If the Jets let him go its a MASSIVE mistake. Its not just about losing an up and coming WR, its about the impact it has on Pennington.
The Jets need to bring as many of those guys back for the 03 season as possible. Coles was getting better as the year progressed, his confidence is at an all time high, as witnessed by his willingness to leave.

I think he will stay. If not though it throws a lot of things in to question about the remaining Jets. I don't think they can be competitive without him. I have him on my team. I sure hope he stays.

Coles will stay because the jets will ante up and pay him. They have no other options at WR. Santana Moss is too small and Chrebet is aging.
