Is this a good strategy?

I have the first pick in a 12 team league(serpentine draft). Without getting into too much details, its primarily a TD league. We draft 4 RB and 4 WR, no starting TE's are required. We also hav the option of starting 3 RBs and 1 WR or any other combo as long as 1 WR or 1 RB is started.

Most likely Priest Holmes will be my first pick. I'm thinking taking RBs in RD 2 and 3 barring that a top 5-7 WR will not be there. Is this a good idea?

i'd take RB's then reguardless....unless a stud WR falls to round 3

I tend to agree. Really focus on the RBs in your draft. I doubt that Randy Moss will fall all the way back to you in round two -- if he does take him -- otherwise, focus on RBs. Take as many as possible that will be TD-worthy, too. Michael Bennett, for instance, will have a great season, but I'm not sure how many TDs Moe Williams will hawk away.

Agreed. If moss is available in round 2, take him. Otherwise draft RBs. Watch out for guys like Henry and Bennett who may lose TDs to their backups (McGahee and Williams/Smith).

Draft three running backs. I just drafted in a 12 team serpentine league and got the 11th pick. I took Fred Taylor #1, Dom Davis #2 and Thomas Jones #3. I even got Lee Suggs at #5. Unless a stud reciever falls, you should strongly consider going RB 1-2-3.
