Seahawks: Stevens ahead of Mili

News
The battle over the Seahawks' starting tight end job appears to have been won by Jerramy Stevens, according to the Seattle Times. The third-year player has moved ahead of incumbent starter Itula Mili on the team depth chart and is expected to start in week one of the regular season.

Views
Seahawks' quarterback Matt Hasselbeck endorsed Stevens recently by calling him the most impressive player he saw during training camp. Mili will still factor into the offense when the team uses two tight end sets.

Lets see if he can play up to his potential. May not be a bad late round flyer if say you want a backup TE.

I think he's been a very good sleeper ever since he started running with the first team recently. He started for them in their last preseason game and I started getting very interested. If he could keep his head straight, he could be a very good TE. I only worry how much TEBC they will imploy w/ Mili.

Stevens is 6'7" That's an imposing red zone threat. Let's see if he actually keeps the job this time.

maybe we can get some more input here, Mili went as a 9th in my draft and I took Graham at 12th TE. If Stevens is better than Mili then he is better than Graham. I am thinking about it?

lol i remember a manager in one of my leagues last year talking about Stevens for weeks before the season started. He was determined and held on to him for more than half the season. It was a good laugh at the end of the season

I don't know what to think of Stevens these days... he was a stud TE at UW. I got a chance to watch him a lot in his first training camp at Cheney and he looked pretty good then.

He's never done anything in the NFL - you'd think at 6'7" he'd be a pretty valuable guy to have in the endzone, but he hasn't even done anything there.

...he did look good at training camp again this year, though.

There are better TEs to grab in the last round of drafts (Desmond Clarke, Freddie Jones, Jim Kleinsasser, ect.) but he might be worth a look.
