Where is Westbrook??

Postby FltMech » Thu Aug 26, 2004 8:52 pm

Does anyone know why Westbrook is not playing to night? Mahe has taken his place and is 10 for 49 w/ 1 TD. I am not watching the game, just caught the stats online.

You're down to one running back, would you risk injury to him?

Mahe is looking great; I wonder if he will win Westbrook's backup spot over newly signed Dorsey Levens.

Exactly what i was thinking... with Duce gone and Buck injured, they cant afford to lose Westbrook as well

From fanball.com....

Aug 26 Eagles head coach Andy Reid hinted that running back Brian Westbrook might not play in Thursday's preseason game. Westbrook is not injured, but Reid wants to protect his starter while getting a look at other people. When asked about the running back rotation, Reid told the Philadelphia Inquirer, "Reno Mahe is going to get quite a bit of playing time. Thomas Tapeh, we'll see what he can do." And what about Westbrook? "We'll see. We'll see."
Views: Fantasy owners shouldn't panic if Brian doesn't make an appearance on Thursday night. With Correll Buckhalter out for the season, Reid is understandably a little bit skittish about his current situation. Westbrook is healthy and up to speed, so we're not at all worried about his status for the regular season

That run Mahe had on the 3rd and 20 at the end of the half was great. Perfect call with the draw, and he sidesteps 4 guys to pick up a huge gain.

Actually, what could have been more impressive was Polamalu missing Mahe at the line of scrimmage and then running all the way back to end up making the tackle! 8-o
