Replace Shockey?

I only carry 1 TE and it sounds like Shockey may not be ready for game 1 or possibly even game 2.

If he's not going to play in week 1, I'm thinking about picking up one of these guys.

Gates-SD...is he going to play week 1?
F. Jones-Ari...McCown has to throw to someone right?
D. Clark-Chi
Graham-NE...will Dillon drop his limited production?
Sleeper if you know of one?

out of those TEs Gates is the best... but i wouldnt drop Shockey for any of them, drop a backup D is you have one or maybe your last WR or RB. Its not worth it to drop Shocley for 1 or 2 games

ya dont be dropping shockey. wh yeven bother losing another player for one of those schmucks. just play without a te for a week or two.

Considering how many posts each of you have, I do believe you guys know a lot more than I.

I'll take your advice and keep Shockey on my team.

I hope he has a better year than what he had last year. So far, I like what I've seen from Eli Manning. Maybe Shockey will come through.

i think desmond clarke might be worth a look this season. with booker gone, there's not really any proven WR's on the team, so the TE could see a lot of touches

That is a solid crop of free agent TEs. Gates is the only receiving threat in SD IMO. Jones is a very underrated guy who puts up solid numbers. And Clark will see a lot of passes his way as arrbez said, I can see Chicago utilizing him a lot this year. I would stay away from Graham though, the New England tight end situation is too crowded for me.

As for dropping Shockey, NO WAY. If you don't like the guy trade him, he is probably a bit overrated but he is still a top TE.

By the way don't put too much credit into post count.
