Mack attack !!!

Postby Homeless » Wed Mar 12, 2003 3:48 pm

Free-agent running back Stacey Mack has ruled out a return to Jacksonville and will visit Houston and Carolina, seeking a team that will give him 20-plus carries a game. "Jacksonville is trying to restructure with Freddy T(aylor), and he definitely deserves it,” Mack told the Florida Times-Union. “That rules Jacksonville out for me.” Houston and Carolina, both in need of a feature back, are on his short list. Mack also plans to visit Dallas and Oakland but believes the Texans offer him the best opportunity to start.

Mack is a year younger than fellow free agent Stephen Davis and will likely be a whole lot less expensive to sign. He doesn’t have Davis’ resume, either, but has been successful in frequent relief duty of the oft-injured Taylor. Expect the loser of the bidding war for Davis to “settle” for Mack.

Keep an eye on this guy, may turn out to be one of the surprises of 03.

if he does sign somewhere that will give him plenty of carries then his value will rise considerably.
