Well I usually believe that RB's are important, on 1 of the 3 league champ teams I had it was QB and WR that led me to the championship. ( With Faulk coming back with a strong second half with Westbrook )
QB Manning, Kitna
RB M Faulk, Westbrook, Wheatley
WR R Moss, D Jackson, C Chambers, A Boldin
TE S Sharpe
PK M Vanderjagt
DE Colts
last year my Rbs were horrible, but i still won the league with basically my Qbs and WRs... i either started McNair or Green at Qb, and my WRs were awsome with R.Moss, H.Ward, and J.Horn(monster 4 Td day won 1st round of playoff for me ).. my rbs werent as great.. i had eddie george and faulk for about half the year.. once faulk came back i traded george and b.johnson(who was having a great year) for fred taylor

I had the same top 2 RBs and pathetic WRs and still won. Sometimes it's matchups that won it for me, and sometimes it's groundbreaking seasons by LT and Jamal Lewis that pulls it together.
In the Yahoo leagues I've been in it's all about the TD. Some QBs will get you nice 3 TD games, but they'll also nail you with negative points from Ints and sacks. WRs will get you some points too but rarely do they get multi-TD games unless they're the main man all the time. This is why RBs are so valuable.. they always get the ball and usually always get the rushing TDs. This is why LT, Jamal, and RBs like Priest and Ahman were so valuable.
1 - I was quick to hit the waiver wire and develop depth at every position (not just RB)...Steve Smith was my #3 and Chambers was my #4...this is HUGE at the end of the season
2 - I saw week-to-week oppurtunity and jumped all over it...when my #2 RB had a bye week, or someone was injured, I threw in Arlen Harris and Rudi Johnson when they had MONSTER games
3 - I was lucky. You can be a fantsay-football god, but really you have to have a fair amount of luck to win the league. You have control over some things, but many things you don't...

In '02 I won the championship with this lineup:
Bledsoe
Ricky Williams, Ahman Green
Eric Moulds, Donald Driver
Todd Heap
Dolphins/Titans
Carney/Longwell
Last year I came in 2nd in the same league with this lineup:
Kitna
J Lewis, M Faulk
L Coles, C Johnson
T Heap
Ravens
Elam/Kasay
I got Faulk late in the season in a trade. I actually drafted D McAllister and J Lewis, but ended up trading McAllister early in the season to bolster my WRs (probably a mistake).
Here's my projected lineup this season (just drafted Sunday night):
Pennington/A Brooks
Edge, F Taylor/C Martin, S Jackson, D Rhodes backups
S Moss, D Jackson/R Wayne, R Gardner, McCardell & D Watts backups
Kleinsausage/D Clark
Dolphins
M Stover
Despite being the weakest I've ever been at TE, I actually am happiest with this draft and it's my 4th draft in this league. If I can stay smart enough to not trade all my talent away before it develops, I think I have a good shot at 1st place again. The trouble with our league is we have a bunch of trade-happy guys so the champ almost always has a completely different lineup than he drafted. In fact, the guy who beat me in the championship last year had a very mediocre draft and completely rebuilt his team with savvy trades throughout the season. The lineup he used to beat me was:
Culpepper
Tomlinson, F Taylor
D Mason, Marcus Robinson
T Gonzalez
Steelers
J Hall
In my second year in FF (last year) I won my money leagues head to head and total points.
Here was my squad:
QB - Favre, Collins
RB - Portis, Faulk, Gordon, TJ Ducket
WR - Holt, C johnson (had a couple more but they never saw the field)
TE - don't remember who I ended the year with as I went through about 8 of them
K - Longwell
D - Chiefs, Eagles
I started with the following drafted players:
Qb - Collins, Favre
RB - Portis, W Green, Duckett, Mack
WR - Holt, Owens, C Johnson, A johnson, A lelie
TE - Brady (bad pick)
k - Longwell
D- Eagles
Made the trade of green and Owens for Faulk and Gordon early in the year.
My Wr's and portis carried me and Faulk came on strong at the end of the year to help me close out the league. The key was not panicing when Faulk went down and Portis was hurt in the begining of the year.

Qb: culpepper RBs. LT and J. Lewis WRs. Randy moss, McCareins, Bennet, j.walker TEs. Kleinsasser, boo williams D. baltimore, carolina K. janokowski
Damn Steel - I don't know that ANYONE will ever have a team as talented as that!
I won last year (12 team non keeper performance league) with the following starting lineup for most weeks:
Kitna (Brooks backup)
J Lewis, Edge
C Johnson, A. Boldin (waiver wire pickup)
R. McMicheal (gave me a lot of yardage points)
Miami and Buffalo were my team defenses
J. Wilkins was my kicker.
