I disagree with the posters in this thread.
I believe Emmitt does hold fantasy value this year, especially in larger leagues and even more especially in leagues that start 3 RBs. Emmitt may be older, slower, and much less effective than he was in his prime but he still has that natural ability to rush the football. And more importantly, he is the STARTING RB on his team. Go ahead and pickup Deshaun Foster, Willis Mcgahee in the 8th round people and then laugh your head off when Emmitt is selected in the 14th, I guarantee you Emmitt will outproduce 95% of the backup RBs this season.
From watching Emmitt closely this preseason, I can honestly say to you that he is still worth a roster spot as a bench warmer. Emmitt looked much more impressive than Eddie George if that tells you anything. He still has the ability to turn a rush for 1 yard into a rush for 3 yards even though he will probably never break one for 40+ yards again in his career.
Simply put, there are a lot worse options out there if you need to start a RB that will score you a few points in any given week.
