I agree the higher you have to reach for him the less of a steal he is. I managed to snag him the 15th round, so I lost no one else and abcked my way into him. If you have to reach for him early in your draft relative to the TE's, I would perhaps look to another TE with breakout potential that will slide.

Flocker's bold prediction of the day:

Antonio gates will finish with 450 yards at 6 touchdowns, and that is final!

I currently have McMichael as my TE, and Gates was never drafted in my league. Should I drop mcMichael and pick up Gates?

Agreed that he should have a decent year but don't mistake him for a dumpoff guy. His yds./catch average was very good last year. The thing that makes him real appealing is his speed and height. He's going to burn most LBs and outjump most DBs.

I started riding the Gates' wagon last season and knew he would be the TE I wanted to target - I got him for $2 in my auction league and think it was well worth it (would have gotten him for a dollar hadn't someone else nominated him) - I'm guessing 600 yds, 6-7 TD's (conservatively) - I think he'll have better numbers than Shockey or Winslow this year...
