Michael Bennett or J. Jones?

Now that Bennett has this mcl sprain, should I lower his ranking? I am thinking about picking up Dallas's new rookie RB Jones for him.

Jones has Eddie running behind him, but bennett has onterrio (after 4 games) and the TD machine Moe Williams.

Any thoughts?[/b]

Jones isn't starting over George, and Bennett is only out for 1 game. Definetly keep Bennett.

Hold on to Bennett. The decision shouldnt be a hard one - Bennett is much more valuable than JJ. Much.

Bennett is easily more valuable. But don't worry too much about George if you have Jones, Eddie won't have the starting gig for long unless he starts ingesting nitro.

I'd love to think that JJ is going to wrangle the starting spot from Eddie. But if the Titans are willing to accept his 3.2ypc for the last 3 years with a decent defense and playoff hopes, all the meanwhile having a potentially better running back on the bench, then why can't Dallas play the same tune?

thanks for the advice. I may be new to the football cafe, but im just a transfer over from the baseball side.

It was just the bennett injury and the good preseason performance by Jones which even led me to think about this.

Id love to see Jones get 80% of the carries, but thats just unrealistic. He is better than george for this season and the future, and he would add a dynamic runner to the team. Parcells isnt a fan of rookies throughout his coaching career, so theres no reason to expect that to change..

While this may be true in general...

Take a look at Curtis Martin and Terry Glenn in their rookie seasons, and ya may rethink that just a tad.
Terry had the most touches of his CAREER in his rookie season under Parcells, and Curtis was 1 run shy of his career high in his rookie yr under him (his most ever was under Parcells for the Jets BTW).

He likes TALENT, and if the guy has talent/Guts/ and is a hard worker he will get rewarded with PT.

What will it mean for JJ? I think it means he will get a shot at a high % of the carries IF he keeps outproducing eddie, and knows the blocking assignments.

Thats just an opinion from a guy that watched Tuna Hammer CMart and Glenn as rookies...

yeah, although eddie has clearly lost a step, he's still a very smart player and a good blocker. so i think a lot of it will depend on jones's ability to block and such

Muzz makes very strong and valid points concerning Parcells history with rookies...

...but even if Julius was named the starter today, Bennett (gimp history and all) merits more value than Jones and a lackluster Cowboy offensive line
