Is there any hope for #2 WR's?

Postby bagobonez » Wed Sep 01, 2004 11:49 am

In 2002, only Plaxico Burress, Isaac Bruce and Peerless Price topped 1,000 yards as the clear-cut #2 WR's on their team.

In 2003, only McCardell did, and you can make an argument that he was a #1 for most of the year.

That being said, what are the chances that ANY #2 WR will break out this year? That's why I think taking Darrell Jackson or Koren Robinson is such a risky move. It seems like the two can't get on the same page in the same year.

Is there any hope for guys like Reggie Wayne, Peter Warrick, Jerry Porter, Ashley Lelie, Donte Stallworth, Marty Booker, or Justin McCareins?

History shows that the chances of any of those guys topping 1,000 yards is slim.

Porter has to be considered the Raiders #1 over old man Rice.

I like Stallworth, McCareins, and Burress. I bet 2 of them top 1000.
