Gannon to be cut?

Another poster just stated that he had heard that Gannon might get cut before the start of the season. I have heard nothing like this. Anybody else hear anything on this RUMOR???

It's just a rumor and it's been around since Collins was signed. It resurfaced when Tim Brown was cut but he still hasn't been cut.

If a poster posts something, that doesn't make it true, until you see a link assume its all speculation (and sometimes that person is the ONLU person whos speculating that).

the fact it didnt happen right when they signed collins makes it less likely to happen

I too have heard nothing of this...all I heard is that Gannon has been more consistent but Collins was better throwing the long ball.

I doubt this happens, this has been a swirling rumor and it'd really be pointless for the Raiders to do it... I think the worst they'd do to Gannon is bench him and start Collins.

Rumor on local sports radio was that Gannon would be cut after the Chargers signed Rivers. The idea being that they didn't want Gannon going to San Diego. (Please don't make me spell out the details of this convoluted logic.)

Any rumor heard on sports radio has to be taken with a huge boulder of salt. Rivers has signed, and Gannon still seems to be slotted to start for OAK. Gannon will have to play himself out of the starting role.
