No Moe, Pick up Onterrio?

Postby shortsavage » Thu Sep 02, 2004 4:14 pm

According to NFL Network's Adam Shefter and Rotowold.com, Onterrio Smith plans to appeal his suspension, possibly making him eligable for the first few games of the regular season. And, the Vikings may be looking at Smith as the opening day starter.

This is definately a development to keep an eye on, especially for Bennett owners!

I drafted Michael Bennett and was smart enough to handcuff him with both Onterrio Smith and Moe Williams via late rounds picks and waiver wire acquisitions.

I am still doubtful that Onterrio would start while his case is being appealed, however. I have a feeling that Tice wants the veteran running back starting and will go with Moe in the first few weeks of the season. Smith could still vulture a few carries, but I think that Williams will still get the lion's share of the workload, and especially the all-important goal line totes.

So will this essentially equal a 5-7 game FANTASY suspension - one to three games of not playing while appealing plus four games of suspension?

Doh! I even did a search to make sure that I wasn't repeating information. I should have done the search under key word Onterrio. Sorry everyone.
