I wouldn't say no value.
Greg Jones looked even more capable of covering for Fred Taylor than Toefield ever has, putting up 5 rushes for 34 yards.. amassing a pretty impressive 6.8ypc this game.
Philip Rivers showed that he might not be a complete bust.. and Drew Brees was performing in top shape... even Michael "Burner" Turner showed that he could be a capable backup for LT2, putting up well over 100 yards and a TD, and showcasing the amazing burst that got him his college nickname.
CPep gave us a taste of what he can do when he's healthy with his 5 of 5 for 92 and a TD.
Brandon Lloyd cemented his place in the 49ers receiving corps after a sub-par rookie year.. pulling down 5 catches, including a TD.
Ernest Wilford.. the rookie from Vermont Tech showed some TO moves, with 6 receptions for 122 yards and a TD.
We got to see Shane Matthews on camera for the first time when he wasn't sitting on the bench or playing in NFL Europe, and he put up decent numbers to boot.
Kordell Stewart on fire.. Romo proving that Vinny might be given a run for his money, and that the rumours of Parcells giving him a thumbs up may not be entirely exaggerated.. Whitted plugging two TDs.. Matt Mauck doing his best Tiki impersonation.. Neil Rackers showing amazing accuracy and power on 57 yard field goal.. Trent Dilfer single handedly controlling his game...
But yeah. All of that aside, it was a pretty worthless week in the preseason.
