Broncos: Bell shows flashes

News
It took running back Tatum Bell until the Broncos' fifth preseason game to demonstrate the talent that made him a second-round draft pick, but the rookie speedster finally got an extended opportunity to carry the ball and ran for 69 yards and a touchdown on 18 carries against Arizona on Thursday.

Views
On Bell's longest run of the night, a 21-yarder, he demonstrated his potential by busting through the line and bouncing out to the right sideline, but also his youth in coughing up the ball and nearly leading to a turnover. At this point, Bell is essentially a necessary handcuff to starter Quentin Griffin. Q will carry the load to start, but Tatum could emerge midseason.

i dont even see how this is considered 'flashes'

He had 1 good run and then fumbled on the play?

He didnt even avg 4 yards per carry against a crappy 2nd and 3rd team defense from ARIZONA.

Bell does not bring anything to the table that Q cant do

yeah that average is subpar but by flashes i meant he did have some good runs but then again was stuffed for a loss or no gain on others....q griffin has looked better undoubtedly but bell has been injured as is just beginning to warm up...hopefully...for now griffin will and should be starter

I think we will see what Tatum can do in 2005, and I am willing to bet with that Denver offense around him he'll be the next in line of mile high RB studs.

But 2004 is the year of the Q Tip.

They'll probably play Griffin all year, then deal him off just like Gary and Portis. Someone will overpay.

You can't really look at it as he's running against 2nd and 3rd teamers because if you think about it, he had 2nd and 3rd stringers blocking for him didn't he?
