Onterrio Smith is the Vikings likely Week 1 starter. Here's what he did last year in the two games he got the bulk of the carries.

Moe Williams will be the starter for at least week 1 and maybe week 2 as long as Bennett is out, due to the four-game suspension of Onterrio Smith for a substance abuse violation.
QB (1) - Plummer, Leftwich
RB (2) - Alexander, Dunn, Larry Johnson, Ronnie Brown, Stephen Davis
WR (3) - Randy Moss, Andre Johnson, Drew Bennett, Rod Smith, Jason Witten
K - Peterson
D - Carolina
(10 team league, pick #4)

Jason Williams, of the St. Paul Pioneer Press, reports Minnesota Vikings RB Onterrio Smith will get to play at in the Sunday, Sept. 12, regular season opener against the Dallas Cowboys. The NFL is not expected to make a decision on an appeal for Smith, who faces a four-game suspension for violating the league's substance abuse policy, until after the regular season begins. According to a source with knowledge of the situation, the decision would likely be made sometime before the Vikings' second game at the Philadelphia Eagles on Sept. 20.
Looks like O.Smith will be playing in Week 1. If your in need of a spot starter already in week 1, Smith might be a good option, but the Dallas D is no slouch.
Stewie: [hitting on some co-eds] I must say, the most recent campus sporting event was quite spectacular.
Co-ed: Aw. Are you in a fraternity, little boy?
Stewie: Not yet, but I'm thinking of joining I Felta Thigh.

definately. even if o smith is cleared, there is no question he is in Mike Tice's doghouse, and moe williams will be the starter whether smith is there or not in week 1.

he appealed the suspension so he could actually play the first few weeks. And he has been playing with the first team in practice and preseason.

He will start Wk 1.

God why is everyone so down on Curtis Martin. Look at the guys career stats! Now with Penny back and Maccereins posing a nice #2 threat he should be able to look off the D more and get even more yardage. Yes, Curtis Martin is much better then Onterrio Smith.

Shortsavage just had a question. I don't take that as being down on C Mart. I got him and O Smith and no question, I intend to start C Mart virtually every week- unless the matchup is the Ravens and maybe the Patsies. He's the goods and with a healthy Pennington, I look to him to have more TDs this year- 4 to 5 times more than last year.

I am glad alot of people are down on him this year. It allowed me to pick him up for $11 in my auction league. Rudi J went for $35 if you can believe that.
