Tight End Pick

Postby robgrandam » Sun Sep 05, 2004 11:32 am

the TE spot is always very hard to predict...not only do they have to be a great player but they have to be in an offensive scheme that gets there number into play...this leaves a fantasy owner with 4 great picks and mabye 4 more good picks that leaves 2-4 teams without an offensive TE...on guy I can see making an impact and as a rookie in the league is Ben Troupe with Tennessee...so if your sitting on Kliensasser and hoping for a decent season you might want to grab Troupe and watch him grow risk is low return could be very high.

Stay away from Troupe

Postby hammerwx » Sun Sep 05, 2004 1:06 pm

Heard the same good things about Troupe, tons of potential. A friend in Nashville however passed along that in reality, Troupe had an awful camp & was very slow to pick up the system. Troupe will see very little action through at least the 1st half of the season.

It apparently is true, as Troupe is buried on the depth chart at #4. Check it out.

Tons of better options out there. If you are looking for a sleeper, take Baker/NYJ, T. Johnson/OAK, Jolley/OAK, Watson/NE.

A NYJ source thinks Baker will replace Becht as the starter very soon.
