I feel sorry for the guys that take Barlow,Tylor or any of those 2nd tier RB's over Dillon...As stated the Pats had to pass alot,NO running Game, and with M. cCloud Cut from the team,Cobbs out for 7 weeks and K. Faulks knee bothering him,300 plus carries, atleast 40+ receptions and,I see around 14 total TD's,He'll be a top 10-12 back easily this year...Dillons finally on a GOOD team.Gee who holds 2 of the top 9 single game rushing records? It was Dillon on crappy Bungle teams, and that was a couple of years ago,and he's hardly lost a step,he's good for 1400 yards rushing,NO 8 man fronts like in Cincy....Also a great Pats D. will mean alot more time for Dillon on the field, and he'll be playing in the 4th quarter, insted of sitting on the bench like he did in Cincy when all the team did was pass the ball trying to play catch-up.....Barlow will be facing 8 man fronts all the time, and with Beasly hurting, and a horrible passing game, alot of 3 and outs. I love people who hype up Barlow and Taylor and pass on Dillon..Taylor wearing that boot on his foot isn't a good sign, back to fragile Freddie, and G. Jones will be having almost all of the goaline carries.People are going to be bumbed out they passed on Dillon,in favor of hyped up players.Don't forget most people on these boards talk great about certain players because they own them on they're fantasy team !!!!! I'm not a Dillon owner, wish I was.
Hardcore, you don't make any sense. Some of your comments are laughable. How can you accuse Cornbread of being a Detroit homer when he didn't even bring the Lions up?? Besides he mentioned that his Faulk ranking was basically a representation of whoever plays for the Rams. I personally still think Faulk is a fine back when healthy.
1. His yards per carry has increased every year to 5.1 last year which is top notch. He cracked the 1000yd mark last year despite sharing time.
2. He caught 35 passes out of the backfield despite sharing time with Hearst. Hearst caught 25 passes. Projecting that out with a young QB, and you get 50-70 catches.
3. If you are worried about why he spilt time with Hearst, it is well documented that Hearst was a better blocker and now that threat is gone.
4. Barlow had 7 TD's despite sharing time last year which should easily hit double digits being a full time back.
5. He has one of the best blocking FB's in the league which is something LT2 also has and helps him out.
6. Is one of few RB's who have nobody looking over his shoulder. There is nobody to go into a RBBC with Barlow.
7. I've watched him play every game, and yes I believe he is the real deal. He is explosive and elusive. And has had 3 years to improve on his weak areas (fumbling)
8. He reported to camp in the best shape he ever has. He has confidence and a desire to show everyone what he has. I like that.
OK there are 8 things to think about. But if that doesn't swing you a little towards Barlow as a top notch #2 RB then maybe #9 will
9. Mike Shanahan is the best judge of RB talent in the NFL by my standards of what he has been able to do over the last several years.
Despite being in the same draft as LT2, Travis Henry, Deuce McAllister, Anthony Thomas, LaMont Jordan, and Rudi Johnson.
Shanahan was quoted as saying Barlow was by far the best RB in the draft.
I would expect nothing less than 1300-1500 yds rushing 40-70 catches 500-600 yards and 12-15 TD's
Sorry but Mike Shanahan trumps Cornbread Maxwell. LOL
Backing up your claim with magazine predictions is foolishness
