A. Stecker resigns with T.B.

Postby VIPER » Fri Apr 11, 2003 12:11 am

Aaron Stecker - RB, Tampa Bay Buccaneers April 10, 8:35 p.m.
The Bucs re-signed Stecker on Thursday. Last season, Stecker averaged 25.2 yards on kick returns, which placed him eighth in the NFL.

Fantasy Spin: Behind Michael Pittman and Mike Alstott, Stecker rarely gets consistent touches in this offense. He had 28 carries for 174 yards in 2002. As his 6.2 yards per carry show, Stecker can provide some big plays, but he has scored just twice in his four-year NFL career. Barring an injury to the top two backs, don't expect a dramatic change in Stecker's performance

I know this guy is quick, quick, quick. I wish he would get the chance to do something...somewhere.

I also heard quite a few good things about Stecker during preseason last year, but I suppose they had to give Pittman his due. Perhaps if Pittman doesn't impress this preseason, Stecker will get his chance. I'd like to see it.

I'm wondering:

1. Did he try to go someplace else?
2. If no other team offered him much to leave TB, why?

Anyway, I don't see much of a FF impact here, and this won't make me change my projections for him. Basically, unless you are in a 60 team league or draft Kick Returners, he is undraftable.
