Culpepper to Ravens?

Postby Cupertino_11 » Wed Apr 16, 2003 8:57 am

Wow.....I saw the article heading on the Sporting News website, but since I'm not a subscriber I couldn't read further. Does anyone have info on this? This could be big. 8-o

Hey Cup, go to the Vikes Message board on ESPN. There has been a lengthy discussion about this.

Personally I don't think it's going to happen.

Lots of rumors of Culpepper leaving the Vikes. I don't see it happening, but you never know.

They'd be crazy to let him go, however, I hear they are getting good offers for him. Have to wait and see.

With all these rumours floating around maybe there is some truth to the rumours and Minn maybe trying to move Culpepper. Only time will tell.

Well if he goes to the ravens his fantasy value drops drastically. In minnesota he was had a good o-line, and excellent running game, and randy moss. That just doesent exist in baltimore.

Agreed with Joester. They (Minn.) were looking very good at the end of last season.

Dontcha just love all these rumors? Squash this one..... :-t

MINNEAPOLIS -- Quashing rumors of a trade, Minnesota Vikings owner Red McCombs said they're prepared to enter the season with quarterback Daunte Culpepper whether or not a contract extension is completed.

"We've never given any thought to trading him,'' McCombs said, "and we're not dancing on hot coals as to whether we get him signed, either. He's under contract and is our quarterback for (2003). If we get him signed, fine. If we don't, that's fine also. But we've never given any thought to trading him.''

Culpepper is entering the final season of a five-year contract he signed in 1999.

After a strong finish to the 2002 season, Culpepper is believed to be seeking an extension that would place him among the NFL's highest-paid quarterbacks. The Vikings, however, have offered him substantially less.
