Maybe they should bring back Okoye, Word and Harvey Williams
The News The KC Star reports that former Chiefs running back Donnell Bennett is trying out for his former employer. Bennett played with Kansas City from 1994-2000, with Washington in 2001, and was out of football last year. Reflecting upon his year away from the game, Bennett said, “It was an interesting year. It gave me a chance to grow as an individual. I had a 9-to-5 job. The real world is going to be a reality someday, but I just know I have some more football left in me."
Our View The fact that the Chiefs are even considering Bennett demonstrates the team’s deep concern over its running back position. Priest Holmes’ hip injury is serious, and the team has no viable backup currently in place. Very few players make a successful return to the field after leaving it.
I have to put another question mark next to Holmes, in my projections, and will probably bypass him in any draft that takes place before I see him in action.
This is very interesting, can be viewed in several ways. One like they say, because theyre worried about Holmes, but it could also be a courtesy by the cheifs to let him try out .
Lots of question marks hanging over Holmes still

Pre-season needs to get here now, so we can see if Holmes is good to go. At this point it seems like KC is trying to cover their bases.
Someone refresh my memory: What happened to Mike Cloud? He was Priest's back-up last year wasn't he? Where did he go? What happened to him. I recall hearing something about a month or two ago, but I have a terrible memory.
Cloud sucks. I remember when Priest went down, I grabbed Cloud, thinking he could at least put up decent #'s in the kind of system he was going to be running in. He didn't do Sh#t!
Bennett? He's never done anything, and was out of football. I wonder if Thomas Jones will be available after all of the June releases are made.
The Priest situation is gonna be interesting to follow.
This doesnt look like a lack of confidence in Holmes but more of a lack of confidence in his back-up(Cloud). When Holmes went down last year Cloud was awful he didnt pick up any of the slack what so ever. Bennett may not be able to replace Holmes either but he is better than Cloud.

Hehe. I did exactly the same thing, thinking I was a genius. Watching Cloud get completely shut down was painful (19 yards on 16 carries). I'm sure the Chiefs were thinking the same thing.
