Rate the Browns WR's

Postby Adamdc » Wed Sep 08, 2004 11:01 pm

What is the order of the Browns wideouts in fantasy terms:

Is Morgan the man, or is Davis or Norhtcutt going to be their go-to guy?

thanks

Morgan is probably the best but CLE's WR's are all pretty equal. I'd stay away unless I had to.

Andre Davis for a few reasons.
1) He has shown more potential than the others.
2) He is a 3rd year guy this year...if you believe in the 3rd year breakout.
3) He was the TD threat last year of the 3 receivers.
4) Kellen Winslow will NOT be the TE everyone expects him to be. Garcia has never focused on his tight ends before and neither has Butch Davis. Winslow will still be good but look for Davis and Northcutt to have more receptions than him this year.

Ok,

But I've heard that Northcutt is Garcia's favorite target. If this is true, he could have much more upside than Davis.

BLAOW!

northcutt is a baller... but he probably lacks the size to be in there every play... he'll have some killer weeks... but davis is more likely to be productive on a regular basis... Qmorgan is trash

Northcutt has been the man there over time. Garcia's lack of arm strength may change that this year though. I am more inclined to think that Davis could cement himself as the #1 guy there. He's got the size and speed and could do nicely with a consistent Garcia. Morgan is nice, but too streaky.

This question cannot be answered right now - unless Garcia has shown who his fav target is over a couple preseason games - something he didnt do to my understanding.

This is one of those questions that is still up in the air heading into week 1. Great question, but nothing but opinions and specualtion without statistical confirmations to answer it right now.

If I absolutely had to guess - I would write each name on a piece of paper and draw from a hat. It really is that fuzzy of a situation right now.

i think quincy morgan is their most solid receiver and his value should only rise.

to give an example of how good some people perceive him as consider this trade that occurred before vick's season looked worse:

Daunte Culpeper and Morgan for Vick and Chad Johnson

right now some sites list him in the 40s for receivers, but look for a top 25 finish

caught a couple preseason Browns games & from what I saw, Garcia was clearly favoring Northcutt. Northcutt led Browns in catches last year, and if the preseason is any indication he could do better than last years 62 catches.
