No that trade doesn't work for you. Don't do it. Owens is attractive.. however you are losing too much for him.

Don't do trade

Postby Homefront Security » Wed Sep 11, 2002 8:27 pm

Hey man, Garrison Hearst is not the explosive back he once was with Arizona. Yes, he had a good year last year, but I doubt very much that he'll not only finish the season without getting injured, but also produce like he did last year. Owens is the man, he'll have as big a year if not bigger than he had last year (especially if JJ Stokes doesn't start producing). But when you think about it, Jimmy Smith and Fred Taylor will score twice as many touchdowns and gain twice as many yards as Owens will. And Hearst....the Niners run by committee. Kevan Barlow will have just as big a year as Hearst will (which means that niether one will have a standout 1000+ yard season).

So... what's your deal?

I could be a LOT more acerbic about that trade proposition. You didn't even comment on it.

Don't do the trade. Hearst will do nothing and because Barlow is a bit more of a power runner he will get the ball at the goal line not Hearst. If you could trade Jimmy Smith and Bennett for Owens I would do that, but leave Fred Taylor and Hearst out of it.
