Not one, but two drafts coming up at the Cafe...

With the slow mock NFL draft completed (and thanks again to everyone who participated ), we'll be returning to the chat room for the next drafts.

First, we'd like to hold a rookie draft, with 10-12 teams drafting players who were chosen in this weekend's NFL draft. This probably won't take all that long (presumably only 4-5 rounds), but should provide some solid insight into the fantasy impact of this year's draft class.

Also, since it's hip to be retro, we'd like to hold a 2002 draft sometime in May. That's right: you'll know exactly how every player performs, and won't be surprised by injuries, slumps or breakout seasons. The challenge will be to assemble the best team, even though everybody else knows what you know. It'll be interesting to see which strategies work best under these conditions...

If you're interested in taking part in either of these drafts, please post a quick reply in this thread. If there's enough interest, we could run the rookie draft as early as this weekend.

Anyway, that's just a quick preview of things to come; complete details will be up soon. Look forward to drafting with you!

Im down for either one.I was also wanting to do an 8 team Mock Draft to get me ready for my league.We have defensive players also so might need to discuss lineup variations along with scoring system to get an accurate draft.More info as we get further along.

Feel free to suggest other times/dates if these don't work. For the first draft, I'd like to go with offensive players only (as in most fantasy leagues); if there's enough interest, we can run one with individual defenders, which could be very interesting this year.

At any rate, please let me know what days and times work well for you. As soon as we have 10+ folks together, it's a go!
