I picked the Jax D with 3 teams in the last round. I'm hoping they put in a top 10 D year. Del Rio is an excellent coach on the defensive side of the ball. He started the whole thing rolling in Carolina and has Jax moving that way as well.

I hereby swear upon a copy of The Sporting News NFL All-Time Player Register that:

I will never be and have never been the first person in the draft to pick a defense.

I will never be and have never been the first person in the draft to pick a kicker.

I will never be and have never been the first person in the draft to pick a tight end not named Gonzalez.

I probably will never be and have never been the first person in the draft to pick Michael Vick.

...That said, I picked the Jax defense rather late in one league this year, after the Phillys, the Tennessees, the Carolinas and, of course, the Baltimores and New Englands were all taken. And you know what? I have no idea how that pick will pan out in the end. And you know what else? It probably won't have much bearing on how I finish in that league.

Exzctly...the only defense I'd ever consider darfting earlier than last few rounds are baltimore...or if a top five defense falls to me late...
