Bad starts for RBs

Postby biju » Sun Sep 12, 2004 12:55 pm

Seems like there's quite a few RBs that are starting out slow:

Travis Henry: 5 for 5 yds.
Thomas Jones: 10 for 21 yds. (but 1 TD)
Rudi Johnson: 4 for 2 yds. (and 1 TD)
William Green: 5 for 5 yds (expected)
Charlie Garner: 4 for 9yds. (expected)
Tyrone Wheatley: 3 for 5 yds.
Deuce McAllister: 5 for 11 yds.

Shaun Alexander just finally pulled of a good TD run, and up until a couple long runs Fred Taylor was looking bad.

Anyone else find this odd?

Ok, so I generally hate it when someone tries to discount the "one long run" and say an RB is having a bad day, but I'm going to do it right now.

:-t

Clinton Portis has 108 yards on 19 carries to give you 5.7 ypc. However, without his first run of 64 yards you have 44 yards on 18 carries.

That's only a 2.4 average. :-o

Jamal: 20/58 :-P
Deuce: 16/57, lost fumble :-P

TJones did manage two TDs ... for my bench. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going paper-bag shopping.
