Anybody playing with IDP I have a ?

We can play any combination of LB and DL to fill 4 roster spots. The commissioner has 4 LB and I was playing 2 LB and 2 DL. I noticed that all 6 linebackers outscored both of my DL. Does it make more sense to play stronger LB then strong DL in this scoring system?


Also do Safeties make more sense then cornerbacks? B. Scott and Polamula both scored more then all the CB's combined.

the only (remotely) consistent category an IDP can score in is tackles, and LBs tend to get more.

in all of my leagues with a flex IDP i almost always use LBs unless i waited too long. then i would CONSIDER archuleta, rodney harrison, or strahan.

Play linebackers! Defensive linemen are not worth playing because they do not get many tackles. they may get 1-2 tackles a game and MAYBE a sack. Linebackers CONSISTENTLY get tackles , maybe 6-8 tackles/game, hence scoring more points. in IDP, Linebackers are like the RB of the offense fantasy players. they get stats in all the categories. make sure you pick up MLBs, they are worth the most.

yup!... i'd play a good strong saftey too... INTs are worth 5 and they usually have 4-5+ tackles a game

Our league has a similar scoring scheme, although more complicated (if you can believe it).

You have to do your homework, but basically the over-generalized value listing is LB, S, CB, then DL. However, there are many, many exceptions, especially at the top of the charts (i.e., Strahan gets tackles and sacks).

You can find a lot of valuable IDPs on the free agent list if you patiently but thoroughly watch every week. Don't make rash decisions (i.e., I am not quite yet sold on Bracy Walker), but keep an eye out for players who distinguish themselves in the first several weeks. That way, you should improve each week and make a run.
