Jeremy Shockey - He'll get his once Manning officially becomes the starter. Right now there are so many concerns that you may be able to land him on the cheap.

I agree here. Warner simply does not have the arm anymore to be an NFL starter.

I'd stay away from any and all Giant offensive starter...including Tiki.

Steve McNair could be another buy low candidate.

great call! Tiki is one of the biggest sell high candidates there is right now.

I do not agree with this assessment. People got so down on Tiki with his drop last season and Dayne taking carries from him this season. Even with his play this week. I do not think he is a sell high guy, let alone one of the biggest candidates out there.

I am trying to trade Curtis Martin now too.

why not?

You gave a couple of reason why he IS a sell high candidate: losing carries to Dayne of all people (Dayne had more carries actually), and Tiki fumbles too often.

But you gave no reason why you think he isnt a sell high candidate. Do you think Dayne will get injured? Do you think Tiki will correct his fumbling issues?

Im not sure why you would list reasons to sell him, provide no theory as to why those reasons are wrong, but still argue that you shouldnt sell him - that makes no sense.

Hummm, I thought that I produced a concise argument. Rephrased, Tiki’s value has been so low (this is coming from an owner who was trying to deal him in the preseason with help coming from Café members) that one good game should not bring his value up high enough to call for a trade. You drafted him for a reason. Give him a shot.

I do not think there are that many fantasy football owners that are dumb enough to not be able to comprehend Tiki's week one stat line when assessing a deal for him. At least, I made sure not to invite anyone like that into my league.

I think you put a few words into my mouth and misunderstood what I said cornbread. Forgive me if I am wrong, but your voice sure had an aggressive, hostile tone. I would appreciate it if you limited your future arguments (at least with me) to deduced reasoning, not going out of your way to make anything along the lines of a personal attack on the side.

Hey - Im really sorry if I offended you in any way. I know I come off a bit aggressive - I have a problem with that. I sincerely didnt mean it to sound that way in the slightest.

I would like to understand why you dont think he is a sell high candidate right now. Maybe its where we see his percieved value currently. I think most people had him ranked and drafted him somewhere around the 20th overall RB. If he really is going to split carries with Dayne, then I think thats too high.

According to Antsports.com's drafts, Tiki Barber was going as the 19th overall running back when I put my draft sheet together (early August). With the same source, he is now being taken closer to 23rd overall for running backs. Granted he is a player that is rapidly losing value and he is coming off a solid week in terms of fantasy points, but I do not believe that fantasy owners will be fooled by his fantasy production in week 1. For now, I firmly believe that Tiki is more valuable to his current owner as a starter or reserve than as trade bait.

As you mentioned earlier, Barber could get a huge rise in value if Dayne gets hurt. His ability to catch the pass is also a talent that should continue to allow him to turn in decent weeks in yardage leagues. And, he got by week one without fumbling, so he could be due for more carries in the second week of the season.

Tiki Barber will need to better his play from week one in week two before I start to think of him as a sell high candidate because I think he is capable of amounting 125+ total yards per game with scattered TDs.

I just did a buy low sell high trade last night. I traded brown and henry for deuce and mcnair. He has mcnabb also. My original goal was to trade westbrook and brown for deuce and mcmichael. I started out offering westbrook and henry for deuce and mcmichael. I expected him to come back with no I want westbrook and brown. Instead he came up with brown and henry for deuce and mcnair. So I made out better than my original targeted trade. He has mcghee too and has bad mouthed henry all preseason. I showed him henrys avg stats the last 2 year and explained to him how jax defense hasnt allowed a 100 yd rusher in 17 games. It was some of my better work ;-D

I cant see most owners believing someone like martin or tiki as being a super stud again. Not after repeated avg or below avg years. However, for the newer guys just getting the jobs like brown or griffin. Those are the ones everyone is going nuts over.

Id say last night was very close to what I expected - SF fell behind relatively early which made the running game pretty obsolete. 43 of his 76 yds rushing came with under 5 minutes left in the 3rd qtr. So, basically for 40 minutes Barlow was held to 33 yds rushing on like 13-15 attempts. Oh yeah - that was against the elite D of the Falcons too. He did get some good garbage yards after ATL had the game well in hand though.

I thought the 49ers came back and made a game of it and lost cuz they couldn't get a 2 pt conversion? That doesnt seem like garbage time.

I was surprised there was no attempts by him in the redzone though. That I hope will change. I think he still should be a decent #2...with the comeback of Beasley I think that will help too.

back to the tiki thing. can i get joe horn for him in my 12-team redraft league?

i proposed that trade and it's just sitting there (maybe a good sign because it hasn't been rejected, and league rules won't allow trades to be accepted until tomorrow).

but yeah, is tiki with joe horn?

b
yeah...yes

I don't think you are going to be able to get Joe Horn for Tiki Barber. Realistically, try for someone like Darrell Jackson and hope for someone like Eric Moulds.
