I really didn't mind the redskins until those two took over, and now I despise them as much as the brownies. You can't buy a championship, it takes hard work and great drafts people. Even Steinbrenner developed most of his talent through drafts, he just spent extraordinary amounts of $$$ to keep them on his team instead of letting them go, and then he filled holes in his roster through free agency. The redskins aren't trying to fill holes, they're trying to "buy" the trophy, and it aint going to happen...sorry.
they arent trying to fill holes? so wr wasnt a hole before they got coles and jacobs? guard wasnt a hole before they got fiore and thomas? rb wasnt a hole before they got canidate? special teams wasnt a hole before morton and hall joined the team?
i think its one hell of a coincidence that the skins decided to sign these
young, up and coming players at needed postions that they can develop along with ramsey, gardner, trotter, arrington, bailey, and smoot. they have a great core now, with d line the only real weakness. spurrier realized his mistakes last year, such as relying on former gators, and he has admitted this over and over. as has snyder admitted bringing in high priced over the hill players a few years back was a mistake as well. they are learning. this year they brought in players in their prime that will be with and develop with the team for a long time.
they have had solid drafts the past three years bringing in gardner, smoot, ramsey, betts, and jacobs(and coles really since the got him with a first rounder basically). not to mention bailey, arrington, samuels, and jansen before them. these players are all still with the team and contributing.
snyder is trying to help his team win, and this year he finally made smart moves. id rather have an owner that really wants to win, and not be a fan of a team like philly who lets star players go even when they have 12.6 million dollars of cap room to spare.
there you go nero... the bases were loaded with 2 outs... but i brought the heat!
