ANDRE DAVIS , ANY VALUE?

Postby kevster1 » Tue Sep 14, 2004 12:44 pm

I just lost Steve Smith last night , and after the initial shock wore off, I am trying to determine who to replace him with. I have Andre Davis on my bench. He had 51 yds against a tough Ravens defense, does anyone feel he can at least take the third receiver spot on my team. I would hate to decrease my Rb depth of Edge Barlow and C Martin ot get a decent receiver. I am also picking 10th out of 12 teams on the waiver wire this week, so the two of three receivers that may be available will be long gone. I also have Tai Streets on my bench, but that doesnt seem an option at this time. :~(

Actually, with Rogers going down this weekend too, Streets may make it into the starting lineup which would greatly increase his value.

Davis is sporadic, that 51 yards he had was one catch. If he misses it he ends up with 0. Obviously I'm a fan of his (he's in my sig), but I don't know how he fits into Garcia's playbook yet.

I read today that Mariucci expects Streets to step into the starting lineup and be very productive with Rogers going down with the collarbone.
"Sometime during the Pats game last week, I decided that Tomlinson was the best overall running back of my lifetime. There's nothing he can't do: deadly receiver, tough inside runner, explosive to the outside, you name it." - ESPN's Bill Simmons

if streets is supposed to step up and be the starter at #2, then why when Rogers got injured (it was fairly early in the game wasn't it? couldn't see it wasn't televised in my area) did Streets have 1 catch the entire game?

I heard yesterday that Hakim was going to be the #2 there with Rogers out.

This is what I have read as well.
That's my two cents and it's worth every penny of it!
