working on photoshop

I'm tryin to learn this but I am having some trouble. The boxes that should be on the right, "history, actions, layers, etc", are not there because I x'd them off yesterday. I expected them to be back today but I can't get them back and I dont know if its possible to do work without them. Can anyone help me out?

Go up to the top (where File is and all them) and go over 'till you see 'Windows.' There's a list of windows you can have open, just click the ones you want.

Its a pain in the ass to get the hang of this, I am able to do a lot of things with the tutorials but get stuck with simple stuff liking setting a background or taking an extracted picture and putting it into another.
