Who is number 1 WR in Washington?

Many of us would say it is Coles...but on Sunday Gardner seemed to have the upper hand, getting alot of looks and more plays. When they ran those two-TE sets, Gardner was the only receiver on the field - not Coles!

This worries me as a Coles owner....does anyone know Gibbs' history with WRs? Any specific type of guy he's had thats flourished? Because Gardner and Coles seem to be quite different from each other.

I am a multiple coles owner too. I agree they threw a ton to gardner. As for the footinjury, he had that all of last year so I dont think that is the reason. It may of just been the bucs defense. The cover 2 leading to gardner being open more than coles or that coles had ronde on him. We also have to wait and see who brunnell likes throwing to best. I think its a wait and see kind of thing right now. I still expect coles to be the man based on talent alone.

Can someone quickly explain to me why coles was signed for a kazillion dollars last year, and is now being assumed by some people as the number 2? with gardner being assumed as the #1? d00ds, Coles is definitely more talented, and should be starting number one regardless of the first week. any key words there?...

As far as history...
Gibbs made average qb's like Gus Frerotte and Doug Williams super bowl mvps.
His WR's (for many a year) were borderline hall of famers Gary Clark & Art Monk...

Bad News? He consistently had 3 WR's close to 1000 yards, td's spread around, but most went to a RB from the 1 yard line. And if the skins are up, and the running game is working, he will not throw much (this is not your Steve Spurrier offense).

Coles _clearly_ is the better receiver, which means he's gonna get the lock down coverage. My concern with Coles is not if he gets the ball thrown his way, or that he can beat coverage; it's the ugly deep ball that Brunell has been throwing.

imo - Coles should have better days than the one he had, but I might start considering downgrading him a bit, and upgrading Rod a bit. Remember that this is still a tough Tampa D, and the redskins had a thing going with the running game.
