at least it's giving florida a break. i still dont get why they make the houses out of such flimsy stuff, even though they get pelted with hurricanes every year...
It doesn't need to be in good taste, so long as it tastes good

lol if it rains for more than 20 minutes here, they call it a bad storm. i've only been here 2 months. it's called the monsoon season. lol almost every day its 98 degrees and sunny. there were a few days when we would see a dark cloud or two but they would drop some rain for a few minutes and go away.o rthey would drop the rain on my neighbors house and we'd be swimmin in our pool lol. i've heard about this storm but i wouldn't adjust my fantasy roster thinkin it's gonna effect any game this week.

Hmm? I wonder what the over/under is going to be for the combined expected rain amount, coupled with the Cardinals score count? :-?

Ohh please, this is being blown way out of proportion. I've lived in AZ my entire life and we do get some rain from typhoons and stuff once a year or so, but absolutly nothing like a hurricane. If it's a very bad storm we might get an inch of rain, but I doubt it. There will probably be lots of lightning though, which could have the potential to delay the game, but again, I doubt it.

However, unrelated to the football game, an inch of rain in the outskirts of the phoenix area does have the potential to kill some people. The drainage is very bad around here, so we have washes that fill up very fast and cause flash floods. Some cars always get stuck trying to cross roads while water's passing over them and a couple of my friends actually got killed 6 years ago when they tried jumping in to save a kid.

But even if this is the worst storm Phoenix has seen in a very long time, there will be very little damage, probably no deaths, and the football game should go on as planned.

So to sum it all up.... AZ won't be hit by a Hurricane.

Guys (and girls?),

It won't be a hurriane when Javier hits Arizona (on Monday).

If anything, it will be a Tropical Depression as it will lose its fury (if it has any) as it passes over Baja California.

Here's a link to my favorite weather site. Just type in your city and check your local stuff. This link in particular will take you to tropical storm events.
http://www.wunderground.com/tropical/

There allow you to go immediately to the exciting weather events in the US (i.e., hurricanes), where they currently are located, and where they are projected to be up to 5 days from the current time. I've been checking them a lot to keep track of stormy events.

Regardless, Phoenix may have T-storms sat through monday, with 70% chance ppt on sunday.
I wouldn't worry too much about it.
