They need someone to compliment the aging Smith.

Speculation is the Jaguars will try to acquire a wide receiver, possibly the San Francisco 49ers' J.J. Stokes, once NFL teams start releasing players for salary-cap reasons after June 1. Other veteran wideouts that may be available relatively cheap are Antonio Freeman and Oronde Gadsden, but all are in their early 30s and not necessarily the ideal complementary starter the Jaguars are looking for opposite 34-year-old Jimmy Smith.
However, unless the Jaguars are willing to start Kevin Lockett or one of several young, unproven receivers on their roster, they may have to go shopping.
"What I know is when there is a job open, it presents an opportunity for guys to step up," said coach Jack Del Rio. "That opportunity is there for the wide receiver spot opposite Jimmy (Smith). I'd be excited if one or two or three guys stepped up and said, 'Hey, I'm that guy' and showed it on the practice field."
Freeman,,STokes or Gadson.......hmmm...thats tough they all suck......but I think I'd gamble on Stokes,,,although sometimes a seasoned veteran doesn't hurt either.

This cant hurt if Stokes can get a change of scene. He will be playing in basically the same type of offense so he will not struggle to learn the O and pressue is off being out of San Fran.

This is the last big shuffle of the off season. It will be interesting to see where everyone lands after cuts. Then rosters get somewhat finalized going into the preseason. We will see. I don't think any of the guys mentioned are the answer to Miami's needs.
