Quarterback Steve McNair was arrested on Thursday night and charged with drunk driving and possession of a 9 mm handgun, the Associated Press reported. McNair posted his $3,000 bond and was released later that night, but he will have to appear in court on June 26. "We are aware of the situation and are gathering facts," Titans' spokesman Robbie Bohren said. "We will have a comment at an appropriate time." McNair's blood alcohol test produced a reading of 0.18. He does have a permit for the gun, which was in a compartment by the front seats, but it is illegal for an intoxicated person to carry a loaded weapon.

A man with two cracked ribs, a strained right shoulder, two high ankle sprains, and a bad back can't go out and have a drink? What's this world coming to? To our knowledge McNair does not have prior such incidents and will probably receive only a stern talking-to by the NFL. He may miss a few practices, but we expect him to play on Sunday.
