Big Ben Roethlisberger

Postby eriesteeler » Sun Sep 19, 2004 10:27 pm

Late word out of the Burgh tonight is that Maddox is done for a long period of time, maybe the season. I know many of us watched Ben during the pre-season and today. I genuinely feel this kid is the real deal. With all the talent around him, I think this guy is a MAJOR fantasy pick-up and he will not give up his job even if Tommy comes back. I am NOT a Steeler "the back-up is always better" guy, but in this case Roethlisberger is a cheap pickup in many leagues that will pay off big time. I have already offered im in my 12 team league and have some interest. This is a kid who, despite his certain rookie mistakes, will be the man this year and lead Pittsburgh to the playoffs. You read it here first. Make the move now before Roeth lights up Miami next week.

Without a reputable source, information like this is at best distracting, and at worst dangerous. What is the source? Do you have the URL? There were folks on here that dropped Clinton Portis based on the bogus injury reports last week.

Looks like it might be longer than just next week.

Rotoworld

Tommy Maddox is out "an extended period of time" with his elbow injury.

"Tommy has a strained or torn muscle in his elbow," coach Bill Cowher said. He definitely won't start next week, but the Steelers won't make an official timetable until an MRI is done.
