The press conference ended about 20 minutes ago, so the press clippings should start hitting the wire in the next hour or so. Again, it wasn't a definitive "He's not playing", only statement that he is hurt and his playing status was completely dependant on how well it heals this week. Most likely Holmes will end up being one of the dreaded gametime decisions. Vermeil said practice time wasn't a concern, if Holmes was healthy enough to play Sunday, then he would play no matter if he missed the entire week of practice.
His backup is Blaylock, if things don't look good for Holmes he could make a decent start against the Texans.
